today in Harris Park

Today I went to the coffee shop to do some writing and had a great cappucino and maamoul mad for under $5. I picked up a copy of the Harris Park Journo, the local paper and this evening I've been reading some of the back issues online. I've found out there's an art gallery in HP, a community centre and even a radio station - Harman Radio, the only Punjabi radio station in Australia (?) according to the second edition published in August 2007. I tried to find them on the internet but all the links seem broken now so perhaps it doesn't exist any more or has relocated?

The current (24th - June 2009) edition mentions there's a few more restaurants and another store opening soon, once their building is ready. I wonder if this will be the old hardware store building, as it seems to be undergoing renovations, and the hardware store has moved around the corner into Marion Street. It'll be interesting to see what styles of food the restaurants will be - there's already a number of local stores. I think there needs to be an Italian restaurant selling pasta and pizzas. There were two when I lived here prior to going overseas, but they've both closed now and been replaced by Indian food places.
